All Star caught the eye early in race 7, three…

Fine day out at Kalgoorlie and the track’s rated a Soft 5, so there’s a bit of give in it without being a bog. That matters here, because two of the three we’ve landed on are races with no natural leader, and on ground like this the ones that settle off the speed and finish over the top get their chance. Bonny Rock in the 6, Electric Bec in the 7 and Buon Amici in the 8 are the three we’re keen on, all drawn to get a soft run just off the pace. No standout among them, just three worth a look where the tempo and the going should suit.
3. Bonny Rock $7.00
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader
Blinkers go on for #3 Bonny Rock and that’s the hook for me. No genuine leader here, so he can drop in from gate 2, save ground, then wind up late; he knows how to finish off, and the gear should sharpen that kick. At $7 I’m happy to take him. Scottish Laird has to do the same thing from midfield at $2.70, so give me the overs each-way.
7. Electric Bec $6.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
Gate 3 in a race with no genuine leader is the spot I want. #7 Electric Bec settles back, but he can balance up and run over the top of them late, and he resumed with a fifth so the fitness is there. Ideally is the fav at $3.50 with the same job to do from a worse gate. Take the $6.
5. Buon Amici $7.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · Soft pace
Not sold on the favourite at $3.10. #5 Buon Amici settles off them too, but he can pick them off late, and he placed a couple back for Chanel Cooper. Blinkers back on and gate 3, $7 and I’m on him.
