Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…

Eight races at Hawkesbury and only three grabbed us, so this is a selective card rather than a get-stuck-in day. Track’s a Soft 7 with fine weather over the top, so it’s more about who handles a bit of give than a wet-track puzzle. We like My Shareena in the 4 and Philatelic in the 7, but the one we keep coming back to is Gilette in Race 8 at $8.50. Twelve go around there and she draws 10, so it’s not straightforward, but that price is worth a look.
7. My Shareena $1.65
Barrier 5 · Midfield · Soft pace
#7 My Shareena is worth being short for. She keeps hitting the line, running second at her latest, and Alysha Collett sticks from gate 5. The worry is a soft tempo with her settling midfield, but she finishes her races off strongly. At $1.65 in a small field, I’m with her.
6. Philatelic $4.40
Barrier 4 · Midfield · Soft pace
Gear all coming off, tongue tie, ear muffs, the lot, and that’s what draws me to #6 Philatelic. Tyler Schiller stays on from gate 4, and at $4.40 he’s near enough to twice the price of Last Druid. The favourite sits $2.25 and maps in the same spot midfield, so I’m not taking that short quote when I can get the overs on the one getting the gear change. Happy to take Philatelic each-way.
6. Gilette $8.50
Barrier 10 · Pace · Soft pace
$8.50 for #6 Gilette against a favourite at $3.10 that has to run them down from off the pace? I’m interested. She can use her own speed from gate 10, and she was placed twice then won before her spell. Overs, and I’m on.
