The market’s gone short on a few at Hawkesbury today, and we reckon they’ve got it wrong. Soft 6 deck, fine overhead, and most of our seven are paying $5 or better. Rising Revolution in race 2 is the one short one we like, drawn 1 with no real pressure up front. Plenty going on for the brave today.

Ear muffs and lugging bit go on first time, gate 1, and Tyler Schiller rides for Ryan-Alexiou. #6 Rising Revolution ran third on debut and gets the freshen-up. The favourite at $3 settles back as well, just from gate 5, so I’d rather have the better draw at the bigger price. $3.40, on him.

The favourite at $3 is the one I’m against. Yeszem sits midfield from gate 2 in a race with no genuine speed, and that’s the same problem as #10 Yes Arnie behind the speed from gate 1, just at a much bigger quote. Yes Arnie has a third, a second, and a fourth in his last three, blinkers stay on, and Brock Ryan rides. Same trip, bigger quote at $8.50. Take Yes Arnie each-way.

#7 Rose Water keeps knocking on the door. Three placings in her last four since the spell, ear muffs on, and she knows how to finish off when there’s no genuine leader to chase. Gate 2 helps Siena Grima land her closer than usual, and the favourite at $2.70 has to make all his own work from gate 6. At $5, I’m with her.

$6.50 about #4 Hunter One is plenty. He’s won and placed three times since the freshen, Brock Ryan rides, and Sapling at $1.90 is short enough in a Class 1. Take him.

Where’s the value here? #1 Divine Vicky at $5 maps closer than the $4.60 favourite. Both are off the pace in a soft tempo, but Light Infantry has to give them six lengths start from gate 6 while Divine Vicky is only two back from gate 3. Siena Grima rides for Matthew Smith. All over her at $5.

I’m on #3 Just Shane at $7. He ran third last start, no genuine leader in the race, and Mollie Fitzgerald rides. Gate 9 is the worry, but the favourite at $3.10 has the same problem from gate 6 at less than half the price. He’s the one for me.
