Hamilton Horse Racing Tips Sun 12/7/26

How much wet can these horses take? That’s the real question at Hamilton, a Heavy 10 with showers still about. Nothing here begs to be trusted, so we’ve kept it honest and landed on four worth a look. The jumps races read best on this ground, and we keep coming back to $3.70 for Nassak Diamond in the 3, a horse who should love the bog.

Forecast for Hamilton, Victoria · WeatherAPI.com · captured 10:29am Sun 12 Jul
Race 1
1:05pm · 3200m · Mdn Hrdl · 10 runners

6. Shogun Express $5.00

Barrier 1 · Midfield · No leader

The favourite’s $2.80 and has to cross from a wider gate. #6 Shogun Express drops onto the rail from barrier 1, and over 3200m on a heavy 10 that saved ground matters. Blinkers go on for Patrick Payne, he keeps hitting the placings, and with no clear leader Tom Ryan can slot in cheaply. At $5, I’m on him.

Race 3
2:25pm · 3400m · Mdn Stpl · 10 runners

9. Nassak Diamond $3.70

Barrier 6 · Midfield · No leader

Blinkers and the cross-over nose band go on for Patrick Payne, and over 3400m that gear can wake #9 Nassak Diamond up. He settles midfield in a race with no clear leader, but he keeps running on late, a third and a fourth his last couple. The favourite is up on the speed at $2.05, too short for me over this staying trip. Take him at $3.70.

Race 4
3:05pm · 1600m · Hwt Plate · 9 runners

1. Flying Shelby $5.50

Barrier 7 · Leader · Genuine pace

$5.50 for #1 Flying Shelby, and the fav War No More at $2.10 wants that same lead. Both roll forward early, but Flying Shelby gets the blinkers on for Luca Remondet and ran a nice second a couple back. On a heavy 10 over the mile I’d sooner take the bigger price on the one who can hold the front. I’m with him.

Race 5
3:45pm · 1600m · Hwt (Bm56) · 8 runners

4. Bismarck $6.00

Barrier 3 · Backmarker · No leader

Where’s the value in race 5? #4 Bismarck at $6. No genuine leader means he doesn’t get buried this time; from gate 3 he can roll forward, sit handy, then pounce late. Lisa Lass has to find a way from a wide gate at $3.40, and I’d rather take the overs on the one who gets the better run. Each-way.
