Goulburn Horse Racing Tips Mon 22/6/26

$4 for Col Du Tourmalet in the opener is where we keep landing at Goulburn today. It’s a maiden with no obvious leader, and from barrier 2 he can sit just off them and pick his moment. The track’s a Soft 6 under cloud, so nothing freakish, just enough sting to make the run home honest. Plenty going on across the card and we’re keen on six of the seven. Septimus at $7 in race 6 and Wandaye out of gate 1 in race 7 are the two longer ones we like. But the opener is where it starts, and at $4 we think he’s worth the look.

3. Col Du Tourmalet $4.00

Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader

Blinkers on for the first time is the angle. #3 Col Du Tourmalet ran second a couple back and the gear should help him switch on late in a race with no genuine leader. The fav #4 Incremental is $1.60 from a wider gate and still hasn’t won one. At $4, drawn on the rail with Guymer up, he’s the one for me.

3. Col Du Tourmalet $4.00

Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader

Blinkers go on for the first time and that’s the hook on #3 Col Du Tourmalet. He’s got gate 2, ran a nice second earlier in his prep, and the ability is there once he switches on. The favourite is $1.55 and keeps running placings without breaking through, so I’m not touching that. From the inside he should land close enough even settling off them, and at $4 with the gear change, I’m on Col Du Tourmalet to win.

3:45pm · 2145m · Hcp (Bm58) · 12 runners

4. Septimus $7.00

Barrier 4 · Off Pace · Soft pace

The favourite’s the one to beat, but $2.60 on #6 Reel Crystal settling midfield doesn’t grab me; in a slowly-run race she’s stuck behind them too. #4 Septimus sits just off the speed from gate 4, ran second a couple back, and Keagan Latham can angle him out to finish over the top late. At $7, I’d rather take Septimus each-way.

Race 6
3:45pm · 2145m · Hcp (Bm58) · 12 runners

4. Septimus $6.50

Barrier 4 · Off Pace · Soft pace

Where’s the value in race 6? #4 Septimus at $6.50. He ran second a couple back and over 2145m he picks them off late, so the soft tempo doesn’t worry me from off the speed. Latham sticks, he gets a clean run from gate 4, while #6 Reel Crystal at $2.70 has to do it from gate 7. I’m on Septimus.

Race 7
4:20pm · 1300m · Hcp (Bm66) · 9 runners

13. Wandaye $6.50

Barrier 1 · Midfield · Soft pace

Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou drop #13 Wandaye onto the rail from gate 1, Brock Ryan stays on, and at $6.50 I’m happy to take him. The favourite #6 Tommy Flyer has to do all the grunt work out front from a worse draw. Bigger price, better bet.

Race 7
4:20pm · 1300m · Hcp (Bm66) · 9 runners

13. Wandaye $7.00

Barrier 1 · Midfield · Soft pace

Gate 1 is the whole story. #13 Wandaye draws the fence, gets a cheap run just off the speed, and has the kick to run over the top of them late. Tommy Flyer does all the work in front from gate 5, and $4.20 is short for that job. I’ll take the $7 and the better draw. On her.
