Caulfield Horse Racing Tips Sat 10/10/26
Caulfield runs a staying card, from 1100m out to 2400m,…

Quiet midweek country meeting at Goulburn, and it’s the sort of card we like poking through. Soft 6 underneath, overcast above, nothing tricky about the ground. Five worth a look across the eight races, and none of them scream at you. The shortest we’re keen on are $4 for Piratess in the 6 and $4 for The Eyes Have It in the 8, with a couple of bigger prices out in the earlier races. No standout today, so we’re just taking the ones where the price makes sense. Country tracks reward a good gate and a clean run, and most of ours are drawn to get one.
5. Last Tour $9.00
Barrier 3 · Midfield · No leader
The favourite’s $1.85 in a race with no genuine leader, and that’s short enough to leave alone. #5 Last Tour draws the inside at gate 3, gets the nose roll on, and Winona Costin can park him midfield while they sort out who leads. He’s found the frame a couple of times this run of starts. At $9, I’m on.
3. Bo Cougar $7.00
Barrier 3 · Midfield · No leader
Blinkers on for #3 Bo Cougar is the hook here. He keeps hitting the frame without saluting, draws the inside at gate 3, and Guymer can slot him midfield. The favourite’s $1.50 and does all the work up front. At $7, I’d rather be on the one running home late.
2. Just Shane $5.50
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader
$5.50 for #2 Just Shane over $2.10 for the fav is the gamble I want. He’s placed in each of his last three, keeps the blinkers on, and from gate 2 Keagan Latham can drop him in behind a field with no clear leader and let him finish over the top of them late. #6 Feazabeel sits just as far back for half the price. Easy call.
9. Piratess $4.00
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader
#9 Piratess keeps finding the line and can swoop late from gate 2 with no genuine leader up front. At $4 over the $2.70 fav, I’m on.
5. The Eyes Have It $4.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
Brodie Loy sticks with #5 The Eyes Have It, and that’s the booking I want here. Winkers go on for the first time, he draws the inside at gate 3, and with no clear leader up front he can creep into the race and run over the top of them late. He won a couple back and hit the line hard last start. At $4 he’s better value than $3.60 for #1 Kendalia, and I’m happy to be with him.
