Goulburn Horse Racing Tips Fri 3/7/26
Seven races at Goulburn and we’ve landed on four, so it’s a pick-your-spots kind of day rather than a full book. Track’s a Soft 6 with plenty of cloud about, so they’re racing on some give in the ground without it being a bog. Nothing here we’re calling a standout, but there’s a few we’re keen on where the price makes sense. We like $7.50 for Koning first up in the 2150m, and the shorter ones in Stormbringer and Rouladen read well if the tempo holds, so happy to have a look across the card.

Barrier 4 · Midfield · No leader
The favourite’s the one to beat me at $2.70, but #5 Alnair sits off the speed too and settles further back than my horse. In a race with no genuine leader, I’d rather take the one who can pick them off late over 2150m. #1 Koning maps midfield from gate 4, gets Dale Cole aboard, and comes home strong when the trip’s out this far. At $7.50, I’m with him.

13. Stormbringer $3.70
Barrier 8 · Midfield · Genuine pace
Nose roll comes off and the blinkers stay on, and that’s the gear tweak I want on #13 Stormbringer. There’s genuine speed up front over the 1200m, so from midfield he gets a target to run at rather than having to make his own luck. Keagan Latham rides for Matt Dale, and at $3.70 he’s the one for me.

6. Rouladen $3.20
Barrier 6 · Midfield · No leader
Same $3.20 as the fav, and I’d sooner take the improver. #6 Rouladen ran a nice second last start off a let-up, Van Overmeire stays on, and he maps midfield from gate 6 to build into the mile late. On him.

4:10pm · 1400m · Hcp (Bm58) · 12 runners
5. Platinum Ridge $7.50
Barrier 1 · Off Pace · Soft pace
Barrier 1 is the whole story. #5 Platinum Ridge gets the rail while the fav has to work across from gate 12. On a soft 1400m I’d rather save ground on the fence than take the short one out wide. He won a couple back and ran fourth last start, Alysha Collett stays on, and $7.50 is good enough for me.
