Geelong Horse Racing Tips Fri 28/8/26
Big fields right through at Geelong, five races with a…

Tigroni in Race 1 is the one we keep coming back to at Gosford, and at $3.60 there’s a bit to like. It’s a Heavy 8 but the weather’s fine overhead, so the ground should hold rather than get worse through the day. A few of these races have no clear leader, which means the speed map is doing a lot of the work. That suits the off-pace types we’re keen on, Tigroni included, drawn 7 but happy to settle and run home late. Seven we like across the eight, so there’s plenty going on if you want to play through the card.
13. Tigroni $3.60
Barrier 7 · Off Pace · No leader
The winkers go back on #13 Tigroni and that’s the angle I want. There’s no genuine leader here so he’ll settle back, but he knows how to finish off and that late turn of foot gets him over the top of them. He placed three times running before his spell, so the ability’s there. Gate 7 on a Heavy 8 is fine, Dylan Gibbons stays on, and $3.60 beats taking the fav out in barrier 8. Take him to win.
1. October Star $4.50
Barrier 1 · Midfield · Soft pace
The fav’s short enough for me. Kunis is $3.30 off just one win, and first up I’d rather take the overs. #1 October Star draws the rail, Tom Sherry rides for Richard Litt, and he won two runs back before his spell. From gate 1 he can slot in behind the speed and get a cheap run, so the soft tempo won’t catch him out. $4.50 each-way.
9. Satono Jasmine $4.00
Barrier 9 · Midfield · Soft pace
Where’s the value in race 4? #9 Satono Jasmine at $4. The blinkers go on first time, Chad Schofield rides for Brad Widdup, and even in a soft tempo he can build into it and run over the top of them late. He’s placed since the freshen-up. Gate 9 is the knock, but #4 Copartner Pegasus gets back too, so I’d rather take the overs than $2.70. I’m on.
2. Setta Icon $4.40
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · Soft pace
I’m on #2 Setta Icon at $4.40. The winkers go on first time, he keeps finding the placings without winning, and from gate 3 Robyn Freeman can land him close enough. #1 Life Young Ever is $2.10 off one start, no thanks.
1. Dubai Warrior $3.60
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader
Won his last two before the spell, so #1 Dubai Warrior comes back ready. He settles back, but so does the fav, and $3.60 on the better gate beats $2.90 on a shorter one. Easy call.
11. Sweet Bubbles $6.00
Barrier 3 · Midfield · Genuine pace
Genuine speed up front is what #11 Sweet Bubbles wants. Tongue tie on, drawn 3, and she comes home hard while the fav has to work from a worse gate at $3.30. $6, on her.
8. Last Druid $4.80
Barrier 7 · Midfield · Genuine pace
$4.80 on #8 Last Druid, yes please. The speed’s genuine up front, so the $3.10 fav has to grind away in the lead while Last Druid settles off them and swoops late.
