Geelong Horse Racing Tips Fri 28/8/26
Big fields right through at Geelong, five races with a…

Anything jump off the page at Gosford in the wet? Not really, and that is fine. Heavy 10 with showers about, so it is testing ground and every runner has the same problem to solve. That flattens things out and the market has priced most of it fairly. Six races we like, nothing we love, so treat these as tips worth a look rather than anything to load up on. The prices we keep coming back to sit in the mid-range, like $5 on Herman Said in the 3 and $6 for Eastern Beauty in the 4, both off-pace types that can pick up the pieces if the speed folds. On a heavy deck, that is often where it pays.
5. World Wide $3.60
Barrier 1 · Midfield · Soft pace
Fresh gear all over him first up: blinkers coming off, plus tongue tie and front pads going on for #5 World Wide. He’s drawn the rail, ran a couple of placings before his let-up, and Molly Bourke takes the ride at $3.60. The favourite’s $2.70 and has to work through from a wider gate as a backmarker on a heavy 10, so I’d rather have the one on the fence with a bit to like about him. Have it.
2. Herman Said $5.00
Barrier 5 · Off Pace · No leader
$1.85 for #5 Remember Jack in a six-horse heavy 10? Not for me. #2 Herman Said comes back second-up for Kris Lees, Tyler Schiller sticks, and he’s got the blinkers on. With no genuine leader up front, this is a race for one that finishes over the top of them late, and that’s his go. At $5, I’m with him.
11. Eastern Beauty $6.00
Barrier 2 · Backmarker · No leader
McEvoy sticks on #11 Eastern Beauty at $6, and that’s a fair bit of overs against a $2.25 fav. Drawn the fence, settles only a length off them, and with no genuine leader he can time his run and get over the top of them late. $6 and I’m on.
7. Rising Revolution $5.50
Barrier 6 · Pace · No leader
No genuine leader here, and #7 Rising Revolution has the early speed to bowl along and boss it up front. Sam Clipperton aboard at $5.50 is a much better proposition than $1.35 for #12 Tigroni, who has to run him down from off the pace on a heavy 10. I’m happy to be on the one making his own luck.
4. Issy’s Star $5.50
Barrier 6 · Midfield · Soft pace
#4 Issy’s Star. I’m all over her at $5.50. Just six runners, Tyler Schiller rides for Kris Lees, and the $2.70 favourite Pazyryk sits no closer to the speed than she does. Easy call at the price.
1. Iron Fury $3.30
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
Yeah I’m on #1 Iron Fury. He keeps finding the line without saluting, draws inside in a no-leader race, and Schiller can pick them off late. $3.30 against the $2.30 fav does me.
