Eight races at Gosford and just the one we’re keen on, so it’s a thin card from where we sit. Good 4, fine overhead, no excuses out there today. Forest King in Race 7 is the one worth a look, drawn 5 in a field of eight over 1200m, and the speed looks soft enough that he can land midfield and get his chance. At $3.10 he’s no giveaway, but he’s the only runner on this card we could talk ourselves into.

Blinkers on for the first time and the cross-over nose band comes off, so this is a proper gear change for #4 Forest King. He was only sixth first-up and steps out second-up with Tommy Berry aboard, drawn 5, so he lands close enough without doing any work. #6 Better Late at $3.00 has to roll forward and do the leading. Give me Forest King at $3.10 to win.
