Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…

Good 4 at Eagle Farm and the track’s finally racing fair, so this reads as a card we can actually play. Eight races, and we’ve landed on six of them, which tells you there’s a fair bit to like rather than one or two to sift out. Invahir in Race 6 is the one we keep coming back to at $6.50, drawn 2 and up on the speed over the 1000. Nothing wildly short across the day, so it pays to spread your interest and pick your prices. Plenty going on here for a midweek meeting.
9. Threeeyedwitch $8.00
Barrier 9 · Midfield · Genuine pace
Blinkers go on for the first time and that’s the hook. #9 Threeeyedwitch ran second twice before a spell, so he’s already knocking on the door, and Tiffani Brooker stays on for Schweida. Gate 9 is the query in a genuinely run race, but at $8 I’d rather take him than $2.90 on #4 King Of The Road, a first starter yet to even jump. Each-way.
5. Our Smokeshow $6.00
Barrier 5 · Off Pace · No leader
No genuine leader up front and $1.60 for #7 Margot’s Deel is too skinny for mine. #5 Our Smokeshow gets back, but he runs over the top of them when the race opens up late, and I like him a lot better here. Third last start, Michael Rodd stays on, and gate 5 gives him a clean crack at them. At $6, I’m on.
2. The Big Blue $3.90
Barrier 2 · Midfield · No leader
Gate 2 does it for me. #2 The Big Blue lands closer than #6 Cool Drinks, who’s giving up ground from a wider draw with the off-pace run. No clear leader here, so I want the one drawn to sit in the right spot, not the one conceding it. $3.90 over $2.35, easy.
12. Tassorati $7.50
Barrier 8 · Leader · Soft pace
$7.50 for #12 Tassorati is the sort of price I like on a horse that can bowl along in front. There’s no genuine speed in this, so that soft lead is worth plenty. Blinkers go on for Tony Gollan, Ben Thompson rides, and he was third last start. The fav #13 Toobloos has to make ground from midfield at $2.50. Take the leader.
3. Invahir $6.50
Barrier 2 · Pace · Soft pace
#7 Moulin Miss has to bustle across from a wider gate to hold the front, and $1.70 is no price for that job. #3 Invahir jumps from gate 2 with natural speed, so he can sit on the fence and grab the soft run this shape sets up. Plenty of wins and thirds through his form, and Jasper Franklin stays on for Pat Webster. At $6.50, he’s the one I want to knock the fav over. On board to win.
5. Fragile Love $5.00
Barrier 7 · Backmarker · Soft pace
Yeah, I’m on #5 Fragile Love at $5. He ran second last start and still has the late kick to pick them off, even with no real speed on. That’s a stronger finish than the $4.20 fav for similar money, and it’s good enough for me.
