Cranbourne Horse Racing Tips Fri 9/10/26
Nine races at Cranbourne and we're only keen on one,…

Big day at Eagle Farm with the Queensland Carnival features on, a Soft 5, and plenty going on across nine races. Steady Ready in the 3 is the one we keep coming back to, drawn on the rail off the pace at $5.50. Seven we’ve landed on across the card, headlined by an Oaks runner at double figures and a Group 2 Cup at the end of the day. Wide gates in some of the bigger fields make the map matter, so we’ve leant on the ones we think get the right run.
13. Express Payment $8.50
Barrier 4 · Midfield · Soft pace
Cavalry Man’s no good to me at $2.90 when he settles in the same spot as #13 Express Payment. Both run midfield, both drawn close, but Express Payment is coming off a win after two thirds, Michael Rodd sticks, and we get $8.50 instead of taking the short quote about a horse with the same map. Soft pace means neither gets a tow, so I’d rather have the bigger price. I’m on Express Payment.
15. Surprise Honey $6.00
Barrier 8 · Pace · Genuine pace
Take #15 Surprise Honey at $6. Blinkers go on for the first time, Craig Williams hops on for Tony Gollan, and a genuine tempo lets her find her spot from gate 8. The favourite has to do the work in front at $2.50, and I’d rather take the bigger price about the horse with the gear lift.
4. Steady Ready $5.50
Barrier 1 · Off Pace · Soft pace
#4 Steady Ready ran third first-up off a spell, Tommy Berry’s back on, and he draws gate 1 second-up. The fav’s a flat $4.20 with form going the wrong way. $5.50, I’m on.
3. West Coast $5.50
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · Soft pace
Five and a half about #3 West Coast, coming off a win and drawn 3 with Jason Collett up. The fav settles in much the same spot from gate 2 but you pay $2.80 for the privilege. Yes please.
6. Agarwood $8.00
Barrier 7 · Off Pace · Genuine pace
Blinkers first up for #6 Agarwood and Tommy Berry sticks. He won fresh last prep, so the gear and the freshen-up combo is one I like. The favourite has to come from the back and find a way through 17 runners, which is a tough ask at $5.50. Agarwood gets gate 7 and a genuine tempo to chase. At $8, I’m with him.
11. Parvenu $10.00
Barrier 4 · Midfield · Genuine pace
#11 Parvenu maps better than the fav in the Oaks. From gate 4, Stackhouse should slot her midfield in a genuine tempo, while Panova settles right at the tail from gate 3 with 18 going around, which is the harder ask. Two wins from her last five, cross-over nose band on for the first time, and at $10 against $3.30 there’s plenty in it. All over her.
8. Boomtown Boss $7.00
Barrier 5 · Midfield · Soft pace
Gollan and Berry combo at Eagle Farm always gets my attention. #8 Boomtown Boss draws gate 5 with the blinkers, and maps in the same midfield spot as $5 favourite #2 Manaal. Two dollars extra for the same setup, sticking with Boomtown Boss at $7.
