No standout at Donald today, but a few worth a look. We keep coming back to $5.50 on Dark Harmony in Race 5, an off-pace horse over 1628m that gets its chance if they go a genuine gallop up front. It’s a Soft 7 under an overcast sky, testing enough that the on-pace runners can’t just roll along unchecked. Four races we like across the day, and the value’s in the ones the market has let drift a shade too far.

#3 He’s On Song has been knocking on the door for a while, plenty of seconds without saluting, and the visors going on for the first time could be the little wake-up he needs. He draws the rail and sits closer than the favourite, which matters in a slowly-run race. Nottolook is $3.50 off just the one run and has to come from the back. Give me the horse on the fence at $3.20.

I can’t take $2.40 for #4 Verifier here. With no genuine leader he has to make his own luck from the midfield, and #1 Adjudicate does the same out of gate 8 at more than double the price. Blinkers go on, Dean Yendall stays for Freedman, and he won a few back and has been around the mark since. At $4.60 on a soft 7, I’d rather have the overs. Adjudicate each-way.

Genuine speed up front is exactly what #1 Dark Harmony wants sitting off the pace. With them going hard early, he gets the tempo to run over the top of them late. Blinkers and tongue tie on, drawn 6, and $5.50 beats taking Tudaya at a similar price from gate 10. I’m on.
