Coffs Harbour Horse Racing Tips Sun 28/6/26
Heavy 10 at Coffs Harbour, overcast, and they’re slogging through proper heavy ground today. Cup day too, with the Sawtell Cup the one they’ve all come for, and Baby Ryan settling back off them looks worth a look from gate 4. No standout for me across the card, just a handful we’re keen on where the price makes sense. When it’s this wet, the heavy going does the sorting, so we want runners who handle the mud and aren’t asking too much at the odds.

Blinkers go on, and that’s the hook for #6 Rethink It. He settles off them, but the gear should help him let down late and run over the top of a soft tempo. A couple of seconds in his recent runs tell me he’s knocking on the door. Drawn 4 with Peter Graham up, and at $8 I’d much rather take him each-way than back the $2.70 favourite from midfield.

The favourite’s no good to me at $2.50. Adequate Eze settles even further back than my pick, so in a slow-run race you’re taking odds-on for a horse that has to weave through the same way. #4 The Comanche sits a length closer, gets the blinkers and visors, and Matthew Bennett’s aboard. Gate 8 is the worry, but two seconds in his last four say he’s racing well. At $5, the better gamble.

She’s first-up, but #8 La Regina placed twice right before the spell, so she should be sharp fresh. Draws 5, settles closer than the favourite, and on a heavy 10 that’s worth plenty at $5. I’m on her.

Soft pace, and #4 Ghost Walker settles even further back than my one, so $2.80 holds no value. #3 Baby Ryan drops in closer from gate 4 and knows how to pick them off late. $3.70, take him.

Barrier 7 · Off Pace · Genuine pace
#1 Flying Shelly at $4, and the tongue tie goes on for the first time. There’s genuine speed up front, so she gets towed into the race late from back off the pace. Gate 7 with Liberty Smyth aboard, and at that price we don’t need much to go right. I’m on her.
