Caulfield Horse Racing Tips Sat 25/7/26
Couple of short favourites at Caulfield today that the whole market’s leaning on, and we’re not convinced they’re all worth the price. Custom is a $2.30 chance in the opener and Cruiserweight comes up at $1.90 late, but on a Soft 6 with a fair bit of speed missing, we’d rather take on the crowd than follow it in blind. Prince Tycoon at $5 in Race 4 is the one we keep coming back to, drawn a touch wide but likely to roll forward in a race with no natural leader. Four we like across the card, and the ones we rate best aren’t the ones everyone’s piling into.

#3 Custom comes to hand second-up here after a nice second when she resumed. Ciaron Maher has her ready and Jabez Johnstone stays on. Gate 7 means a bit of work early, and with no real speed to chase she’ll be getting back, but she knows how to finish and picks them off late. Recuperato at $5.50 is the danger from the inside draw, but at $2.30 I’m sticking with Custom.

Blinkers go on first time and there’s no genuine leader to boss the race, so #2 Prince Tycoon can bowl along in front and make his own luck. The $4 favourite Signature Scent has to run him down from midfield. $5 on the speed, I’m having it.

7. Kings Reflection $3.50
Barrier 2 · Midfield · No leader
No genuine leader here, and from gate 2 #7 Kings Reflection can find a nice midfield spot and save ground for that late burst he keeps producing. Winkers go on, McNeil stays put, and he’s been hitting the line at nearly every run this prep. $3.50, have it.

2. Cruiserweight $1.90
Barrier 6 · Midfield · No leader
Short but right. #2 Cruiserweight is $1.90 off three straight wins, Williams sticks, and from gate 6 he’s got the finish to run past them late. Good enough for me over Mahershala at $5.
