Where’s the value on a seven-race Casterton card? Not everywhere, but we found two worth a look. The track’s a Soft 7 and the weather’s fine, so no dramas overhead, just a bit of give in the ground. Lodbrok in the jumps opener at $5.50 is one we keep coming back to, and Newcombe at the same price in Race 4 rounds out a short but tidy little list. Only two we’re keen on here, so the rest can wait.

Over 3500m I’d rather take the overs. #4 Lodbrok gets the blinkers on, has been knocking on the door with a couple of fourths and a second lately, and Daniel Small stays put from gate 8. At $5.50, I’m on him each-way.
