Carnarvon meeting abandoned.

Just the one we’re keen on at Carnarvon today. Seven races on the card up in remote WA, track’s rated a Good, and most of it reads pretty even. Shooting Kontiki in race 5 is the only spot where the price looks worth taking. Happy to leave the rest alone.

1. Shooting Kontiki $8.50

Barrier 7 · Off Pace · Soft pace

The favourite #2 Weapons Hot is $3.40 and has to do the same job we’re asking #1 Shooting Kontiki to do, both off the pace, both 6 lengths back in a race with no genuine speed. Shooting Kontiki won last start, Alex Hearn sticks for Ray Malpass, and the wider gate at 7 is the only knock. At $8.50 with the favourite stuck in the same map, I’m on him.
