Canterbury Horse Racing Tips Wed 26/8/26

Quiet Wednesday at Canterbury, seven races and only three we’re keen on. Nothing on this card jumps out, so we’re happy to be picky. Cheval De Bois looks short enough at $3.00 in the third, and we’d rather take the $7.00 on Jenni The Jet in the fourth, where nobody really wants to lead.

Race 3
2:35pm · 1900m · Handicap · 7 runners

3. Cheval De Bois $3.00

Barrier 6 · Midfield · Soft pace

Second up off a let-up and he’s been knocking on the door all prep, three straight placings before the spell. #3 Cheval De Bois gets ear muffs on pre-race and Zac Lloyd stays on. The tempo is slow, but over 1900m on a Soft 7 from midfield he can pick them off late, and #1 Champagne Hero is the one who has to work harder for it. $3 is fair for the horse I actually want.

Race 4
3:10pm · 1250m · Handicap · 9 runners

12. Jenni The Jet $7.00

Barrier 8 · Midfield · No leader

#4 Cafe Au Lait is $3 resuming and she settles in the same part of the race as mine, so no thanks at that quote. #12 Jenni The Jet gets the blinkers on, Coriah Keatings is aboard, and she ran second last start. At $7, she’s the one I want.

Race 7
4:55pm · 1550m · Handicap · 9 runners

5. Three Arrows $4.20

Barrier 7 · Midfield · Soft pace

The favourite’s not for me here. #8 Pierata’s Gem is $2.60 and settles further back than #5 Three Arrows, who has run second at his last two starts with James McDonald aboard. Give me the $4.20.
