Bunbury is a quiet one for us today. Seven races on the card and only the one we’re keen on, so this is a case of picking our spot rather than playing every race. The track’s a Soft 6 and the weather’s fine, so nothing tricky underfoot to sort out. Deepest Desire in Race 3 is where we’ve landed, drawn 8 in a nine-horse field over the 1000m, and at $5 for her there’s a bit of value to work with if she gets the run off the speed. Thin card, but that’s the one worth a look.

$5 for #2 Deepest Desire is the sort of value I’ll take over a $3.30 favourite. She won first-up last start and does settle back, but she comes home hard and picks them off late, so the lack of speed up front doesn’t worry me. Gate 8 is the only knock. I’m on her.
