Bordertown Horse Racing Tips Sun 28/6/26

Seven we like across the nine races at Bordertown, so plenty going on here. It’s a Soft 7 and overcast, and most of ours are off-pace types sitting just off a no-leader speed shape, so they need the race run to suit. No standout among them, just honest prices worth a look from $3 up to $6.50. We keep coming back to $4.20 on Refreshing in the last, but the card reads even rather than top-heavy, so spread your interest and pick your gates.

Race 1
11:50am · 1300m · Mdn Plate · 10 runners

10. Mystrix $3.00

Barrier 7 · Off Pace · No leader

The winkers going on first time is the hook here. #10 Mystrix has a couple of thirds in his last three and now gets the gear to help him finish off. There’s no genuine leader, so the run home matters, and he’s the type to come over the top of them late. The favourite sits midfield with the same problem at $4, so I’d rather take the $3 on the one getting the gear change. I’m on him.

Race 3
1:10pm · 1550m · Hcp (Bm56) · 8 runners

2. Spike Almighty $5.50

Barrier 1 · Off Pace · No leader

I’d rather take $5.50 on #2 Spike Almighty than back odds-on Wild Ruby. He gets the rail, the blinkers go on, and with no genuine leader up front he can sneak into the race and run over the top of them late. A couple of thirds and a win not long back say he’s racing well enough. At the price, he’s the one for me.

Race 5
2:30pm · 1300m · Hcp (54) · 11 runners

4. It’s Only Magic $6.00

Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader

No genuine leader and both these get back, so why take $4.40 on #5 Rocktagon out in gate 6 when #4 It’s Only Magic gets the same race from gate 3 at $6? Mine draws to save ground and find the back of them, the blinkers and tongue tie go on, and I’d rather be on the bigger quote when the fav has the very same problem. Take It’s Only Magic each-way.

Race 6
3:10pm · 1300m · Hcp (54) · 11 runners

1. Ti Tree Royal $6.50

Barrier 6 · Off Pace · No leader

Yeah, I’m on #1 Ti Tree Royal at $6.50. He’s won two of his last three, gets the concussion plates on for the first time, and he’s the type to come over the top of them late. Good enough for me.

Race 7
3:50pm · 1200m · Hcp (Bm66) · 10 runners

2. Dubai Dancer $5.50

Barrier 1 · Midfield · Genuine pace

Real speed up front means #2 Dubai Dancer gets to settle off it from gate 1 and grab a soft run at $5.50. Winkers go on for the first time to help him finish off. I’d take him over the leader doing all the work from gate 6.

Race 8
4:30pm · 2000m · Hcp (Bm58) · 10 runners

6. Kailee’s Boy $4.80

Barrier 9 · Off Pace · Genuine pace

#6 Kailee’s Boy won last start and the blinkers and visors stay on. With genuine speed up top, he gets the race run to suit and can swoop late from out wide in gate 9, while the favourite has to do all the slogging out in front from the rail. At $4.80 against the short one, I’m with him.

Race 9
5:02pm · 1100m · Hcp (54) · 10 runners

6. Refreshing $4.20

Barrier 4 · Off Pace · No leader

Don’t need much to go right at $4.20. #6 Refreshing draws inside the fav, and with no genuine leader both these get back, so I’m not taking $3.10 on Whoops A Daisy with the same problem from gate 6. Take Refreshing.
