Bendigo Horse Racing Tips Sun 5/7/26

No feature at Bendigo today, just a solid read through the card with eight we like the look of. The track’s a Heavy 10, so it’s a proper bog, and that changes everything. Fine overhead won’t dry it out in time. On ground like this we want horses that can find the fence and get some cover, and most of ours have drawn to do exactly that. Bank Heist, The Quiet Immortal, Sashiko and Cobblestone Way are all down low in gate 2. Nothing here we’re calling a standout, but a few of these look overs for what they can do in the wet. Pick your spots.

Forecast for Bendigo, Victoria · WeatherAPI.com · captured 10:34am Sun 5 Jul
Race 1
11:20am · 1600m · Mdn Plate · 8 runners

1. Bank Heist $7.50

Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader

No clear leader, off pace trip from gate 2, on a heavy track.

Race 2
11:50am · 1600m · Mdn Plate · 7 runners

6. The Quiet Immortal $3.20

Barrier 2 · Midfield · Soft pace

The favourite doesn’t do it for me at $3.10. #7 Next Tuesday has been placed at both starts but draws out in gate 7 and has to work across early. #6 The Quiet Immortal gets the softer run from gate 2, keeps hitting the line without winning one, and Lachlan King stays on for Ben Brisbourne. Same price bracket, better draw. $3.20, I’m on him.

Race 3
12:25pm · 1000m · Mdn Plate · 8 runners

13. Sashiko $6.00

Barrier 2 · Backmarker · No leader

Winkers go on for the first time and that’s the hook. #13 Sashiko settles back from gate 2, but with no genuine leader up front he can wind up late and run over the top of them. Harry Coffey stays on, he placed last start, and at $6 he gives me plenty over the $2.90 favourite. In the wet, I’m with him.

Race 5
1:45pm · 1100m · Hcp (Bm62) · 12 runners

13. Gina’s A Star $6.00

Barrier 6 · Off Pace · Soft pace

#13 Gina’s A Star won last start with Jye McNeil staying on. #2 National Code sits just as far back from a worse gate at $3.80, so give me the $6 and the better draw. Take him.

Race 6
2:20pm · 1000m · Hcp (Bm66) · 14 runners

2. Call To Glory $4.50

Barrier 3 · Leader · Hot pace

No thanks to $4 on #10 Bazzar, buried in gate 14 and having to come from the back on a heavy 10. #2 Call To Glory jumps from gate 3, can sit handy in the run, and pays $4.50. Have it.

Race 7
3:00pm · 1300m · Hcp (Bm62) · 9 runners

5. Cobblestone Way $6.50

Barrier 2 · Midfield · Genuine pace

Genuine speed on up front, and that suits a horse who gets back. #5 Cobblestone Way settles midfield from gate 2, and when they go hard early he can pick them off late. Blinkers back on, Lachlan Neindorf rides, and at $6.50 I’d rather have him than the $3.50 favourite burning petrol out in front from a wide gate.

Race 8
3:40pm · 1300m · Hcp (Bm62) · 12 runners

5. Hotei Senshi $6.50

Barrier 3 · Midfield · Soft pace

I’m on #5 Hotei Senshi to win at $6.50. He’s fresh off a spell with a win and a second before the break, and jumps from gate 3 with Billy Egan up. The $3.90 favourite has to swoop from a wider gate and round them up. Overs, and the softer run.

Race 9
4:20pm · 1500m · Hcp (66) · 12 runners

2. Ollandia Beach $4.80

Barrier 2 · Pace · Soft pace

Nobody looks keen to lead, and #2 Ollandia Beach can pinch it from gate 2 with the blinkers on. Let him bowl along at $4.80 and #8 Charming Deel has to run him down from midfield. I’m all over him.
