Caulfield Horse Racing Tips Sat 10/10/26
Caulfield runs a staying card, from 1100m out to 2400m,…

Soft 5 at Beaudesert and a fine day overhead, so the track should hold up well. The thing that jumps out here is the prices. We’ve got six worth a look and not a short one among them, everything sitting between $4.40 and $6. None of them are the type the market loves, so we’re getting paid to be patient. They’re all off-pace runners too, which means we want the speed to fall over up front. Difronzo at $6 in race 7 is the longest of them, and that’s where the value reads best to me.
11. Listing Capital $5.00
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · Soft pace
Blinkers on for the first time is the angle. #11 Listing Capital draws the inside at gate 2 and gets Danny Peisley aboard. He settles off them, but the new gear should help him finish over the top late. The favourite has to lead from a wide gate 8 and looks short at $3.30. At $5, I’m happy to take the horse coming home.
4. Hard As Brok $4.80
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
No genuine leader here, and both the top two settle back, so why take $2.15 for #1 Carnegie Hill? #4 Hard As Brok does the same job from a better gate at 3, ran third last start for the Vandyke yard, and gives me more than double the price. At $4.80, I’m with him.
1. Yoweri $4.40
Barrier 9 · Off Pace · Genuine pace
There’s genuine speed up front, and that’s the making of #1 Yoweri. He won last start and loves them tearing along ahead of him, picking them off late. Gate 9 is the only knock here, but at $4.40 with Gollan and Cartwright, I’m on him.
8. Vacillation $4.80
Barrier 1 · Off Pace · No leader
$4.80 for #8 Vacillation against $2.05 for the favourite, and both run the same race off the speed. The difference is the draw. Vacillation gets the rail from gate 1 while #1 Pareto is stuck wide in 7. Blinkers on, Sheargold sticks. I’d rather take the rail at more than double the price.
3. Difronzo $6.00
Barrier 6 · Off Pace · Soft pace
#3 Difronzo won last start and runs over the top of them late, so the soft tempo’s no worry to me. At $6 he’s twice the price of the $3.40 favourite #1 Mister Selfie, who has to find his spot from a wider gate. He’s the one I want.
2. In Great Spirit $5.00
Barrier 6 · Off Pace · No leader
I’m on #2 In Great Spirit at $5. No genuine leader means he can drop in off the speed and use that late kick, and the ear muffs help him switch off early. Micheal Hellyer rides from gate 6, and at that price I don’t need a lot to go right.
