Ballarat Horse Racing Tips Mon 27/7/26

Quiet one on the Ballarat synthetic today, and we’ve only landed on a couple worth a look. Both come late from off the speed over 1200m, and with no obvious leader in either race the map could get messy. Just Magic in the 7 is the shorter of the two at $3.40, while $4.40 for Firerated in the 8 is the one that reads a bit better to us. Two races, two we like, the rest can wait.

Race 7
1200m · Handicap · 12 runners

7. Just Magic $3.40

Barrier 4 · Off Midfield · No leader

No genuine leader here, and that plays right into #7 Just Magic. From gate 4 she can land midfield and sit closer than the hold-up runners when the sprint’s on. She won last start with the blinkers and tongue tie doing their job, and Jye McNeil stays aboard. Battle Of The Ice has to come from further back again off the pace, so I’d rather have Just Magic getting the cosier run at $3.40.

Race 8
1200m · Handicap · 12 runners

1. Firerated $4.40

Barrier 5 · Off Pace · No leader

Blinkers on first time for #1 Firerated, and that’s the change that interests me. He ran third last start and in a no-leader race like this he won’t get burned settling back from gate 5, the tempo just won’t be there to punish him. The gear should have him winding up hard late. At $4.40, I’m on.
