Alice Springs Horse Racing Tips Sun 20/9/26

Fine and sunny out at Alice Springs, and the track is rated a Good 3, so nothing in the ground to worry about. Only four races on the card, which makes this a thin one, and just the one runner we like. That is Down The Wicket in Race 2, a six, horse sprint over 1000m where he should settle midfield from gate 5 with genuine speed to chase. There is no standout on the day, but $4.80 for him reads a touch generous, and that is enough to make it worth a look.

4. Down The Wicket $4.80

Barrier 5 · Midfield · Genuine pace

Not sure why #3 Dyer is $2.40 here. He’s first up, and his last three before the break he was well beaten every time. #4 Down The Wicket has run second and third his last two, sits just off a genuine tempo from gate 5, and Luximon should have him close enough in a six-horse field over 1000m. At $4.80 I’d rather have the horse in form than the one coming back off nothing. Down The Wicket for me.
