Alice Springs Horse Racing Tips Sat 12/9/26

Thin card at Alice Springs, five races on the synthetic and only one we’re keen on. Only The Best in Race 1 is where the price still reads fair to me. $4.40 for him in a six, horse field with no obvious leader looks about right, maybe a touch better than that if the tempo goes to sleep and he can settle off them from gate 6 and pounce late. The rest of the card is short favourites and thin markets, and we’d rather sit on our hands than take unders in the Alice.

4. Only The Best $4.40

Barrier 6 · Off Pace · No leader

No genuine leader in this one, and both #4 Only The Best and the favourite settle near the back, so the map is the same for the pair of them. The difference is the price. #2 Revolution Rising is $3.40 from the rail; Only The Best is $4.40 with the blinkers on and Danielle Hirini aboard. Gate 6 is the wide one, but with six runners on the synthetic it hardly matters. I’d rather have him at the bigger quote.
