Albury Horse Racing Tips Tue 16/6/26
Sweet Treats jumped out at me when I went through the Albury card, drawn 4 in Race 4 over the mile with not much early speed against her. It is a Heavy 10 out there, so they are wading through it, and the ground matters more than usual today. That suits a horse that can settle midfield and run over the top of a soft pace, which is exactly her go at the price. Seven races and a few we are keen on, but she is the one I keep coming back to.

Tongue tie on for the first time, gate 1, and genuine speed in a 900m dash. #4 Lord Of Valor fits that setup. The favourite is a backmarker at $2.30, and asking one to swoop from the tail over 900m on a heavy 10 is a big ask. Lord Of Valor sits closer from the rail and showed enough when second earlier in the prep. At $5.50, I’m on him.

There’s no clear leader, so Hot Toddy still has to work through midfield, and he settles even further back than the one I want. #3 Tosen Fury gets the cross-over nose band on for the first time, Carly Frater rides, and he’s got a second in him this prep. Take him at $6.

Yeah, I’m on #3 Written By Lucy. She’s won her last two and keeps finding the line late, so a soft tempo doesn’t bother me; she’ll come home over the top of them from off the speed. The favourite is short at $3 and has to work through midfield too. At $4.20, I’m happy to take her.

$3.80 and the blinkers go on #3 Sweet Treats, that’s enough to get me interested. Sairyn Fawke jumps from gate 4 in midfield, while the leading favourite has to grind away in front the whole way on a heavy 10. I’d rather take the one with the gear change at the same sort of price. I’m on her.

Where’s the value in the dash? #5 I’m Airborne at $5. No genuine leader, but he settles off midfield and comes home strong, so a scratchy tempo suits his late kick. Brial Rose is short at $2.40 and has to do the work up front. Damon Budler from gate 4, I’m with him.

#6 Bifurcation at $10, why not. Lands midfield from gate 4 with genuine speed up front to chase, while #1 Gunz has to cross from gate 11 at $1.75. Take the overs.

Gate 3 is the sweet spot here. #4 Demi God gets the blinkers on and should land handy, while the $2.30 favourite has to find the front on its own in a no-leader race over 1400m on a heavy 10. At $4.40, I’ll take him over the short one.
